Paul Hourigan is the Founder and Creative Director of Chamber Ballet Australia, creating bespoke ballet productions for luxury events, corporate clients, cruise lines, hospitality groups, resorts, casinos, commercial venues and major entertainment productions.
With more than four decades of experience spanning classical ballet, commercial theatre, cabaret, opera, casino entertainment, international touring, choreography, costume design and stage production, Paul brings a unique combination of artistic excellence and commercial production expertise to every project.
His professional career began remarkably early, performing at the age of 11 with Queensland Ballet and Queensland Theatre Company in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Albert Park, Brisbane. At the age of 12, he toured internationally with The Australian Youth Ballet Company before undertaking formal training at the Queensland Dance School of Excellence, where he achieved his Advanced Male Syllabus qualification with the Royal Academy of Dancing. He continued his professional training at the country's prestigious Australian Ballet School, touring internationally with The Dancers Company in soloist roles throughout China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He went on to perform with West Australian Ballet, Opera Australia, Opera Queensland and major Australian theatre companies.
Paul's career soon extended well beyond the traditional ballet world. Represented by Pineapple and Tommy Tucker theatrical agents in London, he worked professionally throughout London, Paris, Japan and Europe as a featured soloist dancer in theatre, cabaret and commercial productions. He was a featured soloist in STARZ, the inaugural production show at Conrad Jupiters Casino, before concluding his performing career in the United States with Princess and Crystal Cruise Lines.
This combination of a professional classical ballet career and extensive commercial entertainment experience forms the foundation of Chamber Ballet Australia.
